Chives belong to the Look family and therefore is related to the cultivation of onions, leeks, and garlic as such. The vegetation originates from Europe and Northern Asia. Chives grow in june-july and in Holland and Belgium chives still grow in wild. This kind of species take care for a nutrition stock in the ground which is able to survive winter. Fresh Salicornia can be eaten raw or quickly fried . The vegetable fits well with fish dishes.
